If you were to assess the skills and qualities of Cameron Champ, Shane Lowry and Hideki Matsuyama, you'd realise that they are three completely different golfers.
Champ is easily one of the longest hitters, if not the longest, on the PGA Tour and he doesn't even look like he's trying (no offence Bryson...). Reigning Open champion Shane Lowry has arguably the best short game in the world of golf, and Hideki Matsuyama is one of the best ball-strikers and iron players in the game (we won't mention his putting).
So what do they all have in common? Well, besides being very rich and very good at golf, they all use a variant of Srixon's Z-Star golf ball.
Now in it's seventh generation, the balls are aimed at accomplished golfers and Srixon say that they have pushed the ball to the limit this year in order to produce industry-leading distance with optimum control.
The Z-Star features a 0.6mm cover which is thicker than previous models of the ball to provide extra spin and more control around the greens.
When paired with Srixon's FastLayer Core, which is designed to increase ball speed for added distance, the new ball is said to offer 'unparalleled feel'.
The new Z-Star and Z-Star XV golf balls are specifically designed for better player and they feature advanced technology to add performance from tee to green. The Z-Star XV is played by some of the longest hitters on professional Tours around the world, and this new generation features a reformulated inner core to add even more distance.
The new Z-Star produces the highest greenside spin of any ball in our lineup, thanks to its super soft urethane cover and Spin Skin coating. If you demand the absolute best performance, the new Z-Star and Z-Star XV are made for you.

For 2021, the four-piece Z-Star XV features a new reformulated inner core to add more resilience, which provides improved ball speed and distance without compromising the feel.
This allows golfers to be extra aggressive in seeking extra distance and committing to shorter shots around the green, safe in the knowledge that the ball will offer high levels of greenside control.
Both of the new Z-Star balls feature Spin Skin technology combined with Slide-Ring Material (SeRM). This urethane compound coats the cover of the ball and is designed to dig further into the grooves of your irons and wedges, increasing friction and maximising spin for better stopping power on every shot.
The 338 Speed Dimple Pattern works to offer less drag and better overall aerodynamics to improve ball flight, meaning that you get a straight and strong trajectory even in the toughest wind conditions.
The Srixon Z-Star and Z-Star XV Golf Balls are available from 22nd March 2021, and are priced at an RRP of £39.99 per dozen in both Pure White and Tour Yellow colourways.
