Srixon's AD333 has long been the leading two-piece ball in the market and its "Tour" version of the ball, the AD333 Tour, is now entering its third generation, aimed at golfers with moderate swing speeds who are looking for Tour performance.

The key development from the second generation AD333 Tour is a focus on delivering the feel and greenside performance of the Srixon Z-Star balls in a lower-compression design.

The lower compression allows skilled golfers with moderate swing speeds to achieve optimal distance on full shots without sacrificing any of the performance they need on shorter shots.

Michael Ross, Senior Product Manager for Golf Balls, explains:

The AD333 Tour was designed primarily for good players with moderate swing speeds. The problem we identified is that these golfers aren’t optimising their performance by playing a high-compression tour ball because they aren’t able to compress it, so they end up sacrificing distance off the tee and with their irons.

These golfers don’t need to play a high-compression tour ball just so they have the excellent greenside spin performance that they’re used to. They would benefit greatly from playing a ball that offers the same great greenside performance but is easier to compress. That’s why we developed the lower-compression Srixon AD333 Tour.

To make this happen the ball has been given a lower-compression Energetic Gradient Growth Core. This is now easier to compress than in the previous generation of the ball which leads to lower driver spin, translating to greater distance and accuracy on full shots.

Srixon say independent testing has shown the AD333 Tour really excels in distance from the mid-irons. The core and highly resilient mid-layer work together to generate high ball speed with a high launch angle. These favourable launch conditions create substantially more distance for the AD333 TOUR than most competitor balls tested.

Distance is maximised with the 338 Speed Dimple pattern, a low drag design that improves flight performance for longer distance with more control.

That control is optimised around the green thanks to the high friction delivered by the Spin Skin coating that gives dramatically more spin around the green.
