The Cobra Big Trusty Rusty wedge is designed for maximum forgiveness and made of low density, lightweight steel that allowed Cobra to create a larger profile.
Developed with short-game guru Phil Rodgers, the Cobra Big Trusty Rusty wedge features a Super wide Tri-Bounce sole that merges versatility and shot making with ultimate forgiveness. The 100% raw, non-plated 8620 carbon steel is 7% softer than standard chrome and rusts over time for enchanced feel, versatility and shot making. The Cobra Big Trusty Rusty wedge features four distinct surface roughnesses created by grooves developed from Laser Precision Technology that are enhanced by post-laser miling. This roughness, along with the gradual rusting of the Big Trusty Rusty, results in the maximum allowable spin.
The Cobra Big Trusty Rusty is offered in 3 finishes: an all over pre-rusted finish, a satin finish with pre-rusted hitting area and a black PVD finish. Each wedge is paired with a Lamkin 3GEN group that is designed to dampen vibrations, as well as a True Temper Dynamic Golf S200 black shaft designed to reduce glare.

If you find the standard Trusty Rusty wedge a little to hard to handle, then you will find the Big Trusty Rusty Wedge more to your likely. The large, almost oversized head gives you lots of confidence and the wider sole is a lot more versatile if you are someone who plays on lush parkland courses most or all of the time and occassionally on links.
Due to the wider sole there is more heel and toe relief on the Big version which makes opening up the face to vary the level of bounce a little easier. The sound and feel is very good and the spin from the grooves is up there with the best in the market. The cool looking all black shaft is a light Cobra steel shaft and adds a professional look to your bag
The untreated finish will rust over time and there are 3 choices of head colours, all with little flashes of Cobra's new orange look. The satin chrome head with the rust coloured face and white lines looks a bit odd to us with the black shaft, but some will like the contrast. The full rust coloured option is good, although with both versions the rust paint will wear off quite quickly.
Our preference is for the all black PVD finish which compliments the shaft and the Big Trusty Rusty will give mid to high handicappers a good looking, forgiving and easy to play wedge across a variety of courses and lies.
