Feel, distance and consistency.

Important attributes for any golfer and the fundamentals around which Cobra Golf have designed their Fly-Z and Fly-Z XL irons.

Jose Miraflor, Director of Product Marketing at Cobra Golf, explains the thinking behind the Fly-Z iron family:

The Fly-Z family of irons is designed to provide performance for golfers of all levels by addressing a wide span of performance needs. Our two game-changing irons, the Fly-Z and Fly-ZXL irons were designed to blend distance with feel while offering forgiveness and consistency.

Cobra Fly-Z Irons

The Cobra Fly-Z irons have taken technology from the Fly-Z line of metal woods with the inclusion of Speed Channel technology, aimed at making the irons faster across the whole face.

The irons have a visible trench positioned on both the cavity behind the face and on the sole of the irons. This allows the face to flex and then recover at impact and transfer this additional energy to the ball, thereby increasing ball speed and ultimately gaining distance.

Cobra Fly-Z Irons

The modern head shape has been designed to complement the Speed Channel so that higher speeds are registered across the face to give the Fly-Z irons the best combination of distance, forgiveness and feel.

Feel is enhanced by the Fly-Z's harmonic cavity that contains a Thermoplastic Urethane insert placed directly behind the impact zone, damping vibrations and improving feel at impact.

The Fly-Z irons come in black as standard, but can be customised in White, Blue, Orange and Red.

Cobra Fly-Z XL Irons

The Fly-Z XL are an oversized yet traditionally shaped iron designed to give players confidence at address and provide distance through consistently higher trajectories.

The 3 to 8-irons feature a dual cavity with a hollow lower half that creates a lower and deeper centre of gravity to give an easy launch and a high level of forgiveness.

The hollow construction also means the face of the irons can be thinner, which combined with the Speed Channel, gives additional club speed right across the face for consistent distance.

The irons are progressively offset to deliver an optimal trajectory and heel and toe weighting increases the forgiveness even further.

The XL irons can also be combined in a Fly-Z XL Combo set including 3 hybrids, dual cavity hollow irons from 4-8 and the 9 iron and wedges incorporating a traditional undercut design for precision and control.
