The Wilson FYbrid RS fairway wood has a more rounded head than previous Wilson fairways, with the toe taking the brunt of this feature. The RS stands for 'rocker sole' and the roundness continues to the sole design. The camber is larger than most fairways to enable you to play from a variety of lies, which is good. However from tight fairways this may be an issue on low off-centre hits, but otherwise from the tee, rough and bad lies the FYbrid RS was very forgiving and the higher lofted versions are great clubs to use in the rough.

The sound at impact with a little high pitched but we quite liked it. We also liked the looks of the club with the 2 tone red and white shaft combining with the black head and silver face, even though the face visually seemed a little small thanks to the rounded toe sweeping back in.

Focus on the performance and you have a very competitiively priced fairway wood that will suit mid-handicappers on parkland courses.

I found the Wilson FYbrid RS Utility extremely easy to hit. The distance wasn't overwhelming, but it was incredibly easy to hit and flew very high. If you struggle with long irons, these could be for you. They are relatively oversized compared with other hybrids on the market, but still look good behind the ball.
