Who? 27 year-old American Scottie Scheffler.
What? The 2024 Players Championship, his eighth PGA Tour win.
Where? TPC Sawgrass, Sawgrass, Florida.
How? Scottie Scheffler proved that he is comfortably the best player in the world with his second win in two weeks, defending his title at The Players thanks to an incredible final round of 64. Despite battling a neck injury on Friday and Saturday, the American produced an incredible comeback on the final day, making up five strokes on overnight leader Wyndham Clark. After posting 21-under, Scheffler had to sit and watch as three players tried to find a birdie to join him in a playoff, but Clark's heartbreaking horseshoe on the 72nd green confirmed his victory.
