In the words of Titleist's Mary Lou Bohn, "it's no easy task for our Golf Ball R&D team to improve upon our industry leading products." The truth is the Titleist Pro V1x, and its Pro V1 sibling, are two of the most successful and popular balls to ever be teed up by professionals and amateurs alike. Now, for the 2013 season, Titleist have made some changes to the Pro V1x.

The 328-dimple design is retained with some changes under the surface that will produce a lower, tighter ball flight compared to the previous Titleist Pro V1x. The four-piece construction features a new, extremely soft ZG process centre within a dual core, all designed to maintain low driver spin whilst increasing iron spin for control into the greens.

"Player feedback on the distance and flight of the new Pro V1x has been extremely positive" says Titleist's Bill Morgan. "These players like that Pro V1x flies higher than a Pro V1 golf ball, yet they notice and appreciate that its new flight is in their preferred launch window."

As well as going longer, the 2013 Titleist Pro V1x will last longer too. An improved Urethane Elastomer cover and improved paint system ensures that each ball will maintain it's "out-of-the box appearance longer".
