Plenty of shoes are designed to give you the comfort or style you need for 18 holes, but how many are designed for 19 holes?
The new Puma Monolite golf shoes are built to be a versatile shoe that give players the style and comfort they need, on and off the course. Weighing just 9.5oz (or 269 grams), they are more than 30% lighter than other street-style shoes on the market.
The upper design of the Monolite is made of full grain leather along with a suede lining, which Puma say combine to give the Monolite a soft feel and sophisticated look.
As you can see in the photo above, the shoe features an external heel construction known as an EVA Heel Counter. Intergrated with the midsole of the shoe, this heel portion is built to increase the support and stability of the Monolite, whilst maintaining an overall lightweight performance.
Furthermore, the inside of the heel is lined with Puma's EverFoam, a memory foam material that adjusts and contours to the shape of your foot.
The Monolite's carbon rubber sole is fitted with directionally molded traction lugs that Puma say are strategically shaped in placed in proper zones for increased traction and grip. The flex grooves, seen in the footfoot of the sole below, are designed to provide increased flexibility and enhanced contact with the ground.
“The Monolite is the perfect shoe to showcase our new LiteStyle platform we are launching in 2014,” said Grant Knudson, PUMA Footwear Product Manager. “It is an impressive blend of lightweight performance, versatility, comfort and style that will attract golfers of all kinds.”
Of course it wouldn't be a Puma golf shoe without plenty of style and colour options. Thus, the Monolite is available in five different colour combinations, two available in a perforated leather design and three in a smooth leather option. Each pair also comes with two different colours of laces for added customisation.
Lastly, for the ladies out there, Puma have designed the Puma Monolite Wmns. Available in four different colours, the women's versions features a unique, yoga mat sockliner that is literally made from yoga mat material. It retails for a little less than the men's version, starting with an RRP of £55.
