Ping have announced the latest instalment of their wedge range with details of the new Glide 4.0 model, focused on providing lower-launching, higher spinning performance with a larger range of grind and loft options.
Whilst the previous Glide Forged Pro wedges are aimed at skilled golfers looking for ultimate feel in a compact setup, the Glide 4.0 will suit a wider range of players and more options available, the custom fitting process should be easier and more precise.
"The Glide 4.0 series is an exciting continuation of our specialty wedge family that brings golfers the short-game performance they need to lower their scores through several advancements in wedge technology."
"We packed a lot of performance into the series to ensure it appeals to golfers of all abilities."

8620 Carbon Steel & Activated Elastomer
The wedges feature a multi-material construction which combines 8620 carbon steel with a larger and softer activated elastomer insert, promoting a soft and responsive feel. The added volume provided by the insert also allows for 36% more face contact, again contributing to a softer feel.
Precisely Sized and Shaped
The Glide 4.0 has a slightly rounded, compact design which has seen improvements made to the lead edge and hosel transition, providing a 'captured' look at address.
The S and T grind versions have smaller head sizes than the W and E options, to give players choosing those options the feeling of greater versatility and workability, whereas the W and E are aimed towards more forgiveness and friendliness.
Friction Face with Emery Blast
The Emery face blast, like that seen in the Glide Forged Pro, adds texture to the hitting surface to create more friction and better interaction between the club and the ball for greater spin with a lower launch.
The lower lofted wedges, from 46 to 52 degrees, feature wheel-cut grooves with a 20º sidewall for better performance on full shots. From 54 to 60 degrees, there is a 28º sidewall and tighter radius to add spin and precision on the touch shots around the green and out of bunkers.
The hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish adds to higher spin and a lower launch, particularly in wet conditions and when playing out of the rough.
Four Grinds, More Loft Options
Four different grind options are available to golfers to match their own angle of attack and turf conditions, improving performance and versatility on both full and partial shots.
There are 17 different loft and grind combinations available in the new Glide 4.0 wedge.
