Ball flight is key to better players and the Big Bertha Alpha 815 hybrid from Callaway has been designed to give golfers complete trajectory control.
Penetrating ball flight is achieved by less spin and although the centre of gravity position in the Big Bertha Alpha 815 hybrid is not adjustable it is optimised to a low and forward position that better players demand.
This centre of gravity is keyed in using weighting in the sole of the club as well as the now familiar Callaway "Internal Standing Wave", whereby the weight is built from the back of the sole of the club and leans forward into the space behind the face without touching the face.
Although Callaway have fixed the CG postion, the Big Bertha Alpha 815 is adjustable for loft and lie thanks to the inclusion of OptiFit adjustability in the hosel, giving all three hybrids in the range, with lofts of 18°, 20° and 23°, a further 8 combinations of loft and lie angle to allow for optimal set up.
This is very much a better players hybrid that a has a square face angle, with a compact head with a rounded half pear toe profile to give a confident, less offset, look at address.
The Big Bertha Alpha 815 hybrid also incorporates Callaway's Forged Hyper Speed Face Cup in the face, creating maximum ball speed and therefore distance from all impact locations across the face.
A premium lightweight performance shaft as standard, in this case the Fujikura Speeder 865, to help generate more speed and complete the package of a distance hybrid for better players.
