Best of 2021

Despite the struggles that have affected us all in the last 18 months or so, golf has been fortunate to have experienced something of a boom since the summer of 2020, with more people than ever choosing to take up the game.

As a result of this, there have been a number of golfers buying new golf equipment and of course whenever this happens, drivers are one of the first products they look to, and there are obvious reasons for this. It's the most glamorous, most expensive and most fun of all the clubs in the bag - so you need to make sure you make the right decision if you're looking for a new big stick.

We've put together the best drivers that we've tested in 2021 to give you an idea of where you should be looking.

TaylorMade SIM2 Max Driver

TaylorMade SIM2 Max Driver

Released: 19/02/2021

RRP As Reviewed: £449

Quick Hit: TaylorMade make further improvements to their driver range and the SIM2 is an ideal option for golfers with higher swing speeds seeking low spin and low launch.

The Tech: A new asymmetric Inertia Generator is shaped to provide faster club head speeds, whilst a new Forged Ring Construction (the big blue thing on the back) is designed to increase forgiveness and stability

Ping G425 LST Driver

Ping G425 LST Driver

Released: 11/01/2021

RRP As Reviewed: £450

Quick Hit: They’ve nailed the stability and are starting to find a few more yards too, especially in this long spin option. Looks like a winning combination...

The Tech: A pear shaped 445cc head with a 17g CG shifting weight at the back to allow you to dial in your ball flight. The LST model is said to reduce spin by 200 rpm compared to the G410, and as much as 700rpm compared to the G425 Max.

Golfalot Says: There are no tricks in the G425 driver range, no fancy bits hanging off, no 'out-there' names or colours. This a simple and premium looking driver and the range has enough options to suit all ranges of golfers.
