The Odyssey ProType iX putter features a new, improved White Hot insert, Tour-preferred feel and adjustable weighting.
Known for their putter innovation, Odyssey have pushed the limits of what is possible in putter design once again. From the Odyssey Flip Face putter to the more recent Versa and counterbalanced Tank putters, Odyssey's R&D team have been working hard to find the right putter for all types of golfers.
The Odyssey ProType iX continues that trend. The most noticeable feature of the new range is the adjustable weighting system. Each new ProType iX putter comes complete with three sets of three different sole weights: 10, 15 and 20 grams.
Players can customize the weight of the putter head to create a lighter or heavier feel depending on stroke type, conditions or green speeds. The divot tool that is included with the ProType iX putters doubles the weight wrench tool.
The ProType iX is available in three different head designs: #1, #4 and #9. The #1 model (first three images left) is a standard, squared-off blade, the #4 HT (second three images) model is very similar but features a high-toe (HT) blade and scooped back cavity. Finally, the #9 HTmodel (last three images) is a flanged blade or mid mallet with a longer hosel and less offset.
The PVD finish and head designs of the ProType iX putters provide a look at address that is preferred by Odyssey's Tour players. The HT or high-toe models have been specifically developed to suit the eye of players such as Phil Mickelson and Ryo Ishikawa.
The White Hot insert has been re-engineered to provide more consistent sound, feel and performance. Odyssey's new laser milling process means they are able to achieve tighter tolerances for even more consistency and performance.
The Odyssey ProType iX is a premium Tour-level putter, thus it will enter the market with an RRP of £279.
