The Callaway X-Forged vintage wedge is the latest from wedge guru Roger Cleveland and it does not disappoint.

The head has lovely smooth lines in a classic shape with some nice modern touches too.

Certain 56 to 64 degree models come with the Mack Daddy u-shaped grooves (look for the MD on the hosel) and these really give loads of bite, but make sure you take the edge off them on a couple of buckets of range balls rather than your stock of premium balls.

The higher lofted versions above 56 degree also have the a C-grind sole which allows you to really open the face up off tight lies.

Out of the sand it is fantastic too, as you would expect from a wedge designed by Mr Cleveland. The vintage version has a lovely finish which will rust over time and stop any glare from the sun.

A must try wedge!

Best wedge out there, performance is just as good as the Titleist Vokey if not better for the versatile X-Forged C grind sole. I get the same performance from the fairway and the rough with the Callaway X-Forged wedge whilst with the Vokey I tend to cut the ball to much and fat it.
