We first wrote about Ashworth's Golf/Man series, an amalgam of travelogue and biography, when they introduced the Ashworth Cardiff ADC 2 Golf Shoe.

Inspired by the natural beauty and simplicity of links style golf courses built with modern techniques, the ethos behind the Golf/Man series is also the design inspiration for their latest apparel offering, the Ashworth Indigo Collection.

Kristen Labate, Global Product Manager at Ashworth Golf, explains the principles that drive the design:

We took great inspiration from links-style golf destinations when designing the new Ashworth collection. These courses, natural in appearance yet designed with the best modern techniques, helped bring to life natural performance in both aesthetic and material choice. The apparel is a unique balance of relaxed and refined, while blending together the best natural materials that deliver on performance.

The Indigo Collection encompasses golf shirts, layering options in the form of jumpers and cardigans, and golf shorts. Classically styled, the modern element comes from Ashworth's new Primatec cotton, a premium performance fabric that quickly disperses moisture, keeping the face of the fabric dry with minimal visible sweat.

Designed with both performance and fashion in mind the clothing should work for golfers on and off the course.

One golf course that very much fits the Ashworth philosopy is Chambers Bay, hosting the US Open in June 2015, and to mark the occasion the next edition of Ashworth's Golf/Man series centres on the unique course at Chambers Bay and will be available to view from the week before the event.
