Ashworth is a brand that likes to innovate. Founded by the son of a club pro in 1984, visitors to their website don't just get told about golf shoes and clothing. They've put together a range of content hoping to inspire and strike a chord with passionate golfers.
Their Golf/Man series is an amalgam of travelogue and biography centred around some great golf courses, such as Streamsong in Florida and Bandon Dunes in Oregon, tapping into a feel for golf that they hope is reflected in their 2015 golf shoe and apparel collection.
Two new shoes in that line up are the Cardiff ADC 2 and the Leucadia Saddle, contrasting shoes giving golfers the choice of picking footwear to suit how they like to enjoy playing the game.
Ashworth Cardiff ADC 2 Golf Shoe
We were big fans of the original Ashworth Cardiff ADC shoe so are not surprised they've stuck with the formula and released a second iteration.
Standing for All Day Comfort, the Cardiff ADC range is Ashworth's most popular shoe, and although it owes its lineage to the comfort and style of the street shoe it is a serious performer on the course. Golfers like Justin Rose don't pick shoes that are detrimental to their game and he wore the original Cardiff ADC when winning the US Open at Merion.
The Cardiff ADC 2 has a soft leather upper and its spikeless outsole has been designed to deliver increased traction to give golfers who prefer spikeless shoes a serious performance option.
This updated version features a new Ortholite insole that is lightweight and breathable and incorporates a bounce back technology to increase comfort and reduce fatigue. It's also antimicrobial and washable so the Cardiff ADC 2's can easily be kept fresh no matter how many times you wear them.
Ashworth Leucadia Saddle Golf Shoe
The Leucadia Saddle hark back to a more classical, spiked styling using a Pulsar Cleat that offers a combination of comfort and traction.
Also featuring a premium leather upper, the shoe has a comfortable fit and like all Ashworth shoes comes with a two-year waterproof guarantee. The Leucadia Saddle comes in five colours and has an RRP of £109.99.
