We tried the 2i version of the John Letters Trilogy Wood Iron Utility and felt it was the ideal replacement for a 1-iron as it has a very strong 15 degrees of loft.

It looks a little quirky, like a cross between an Adams wood and the old Cleveland VAS irons, but visually it works and we really liked it.

You can hit it high and low and we would rather have one of these in the bag than a long-iron. The head is longish for this type of club so it is more wood than iron, but in this type of club it is performance that matters and it scores well here.

The custom navy and black John Letters grip is soft and tacky, combining modern performance with classic looks. Good quality head-cover too.

Very, very easy to hit and get the ball airborne. Gives you a consistant flight with every shot. Looks and lies good and has a good all over feel about the club. If you dislike long irons the John Letters Trilogy Wood Iron will easily help your game.
