The 2010 FootJoy Contour series is an updated version of the 2007 Contour golf shoe and the main improvements are in the shoe’s sole and construction.
The extra flexibility provided by the slip last construction is combined with a contoured design to more closely match the shape of the foot.
On the course the grip and comfort were very good for this level of shoe, although the Softspike cleats clogged up with grass very quickly and it is better to change these for Champ Stingers if you can. The FootJoy Contours come with a 1 year waterproof guarantee and having tested then in 36 holes of rain we can assure you that they keep your feet dry and comfortable.
A new addition to this year’s range is the option of BOA lacing system that was previously on the ReelFit shoes. Some may not like the look of the dial on the rear of the shoe, but in our view this is the future of golf shoes as the BOA lacing tightens the shoe more evenly across the foot and does not ever loosen.
Tightening during the round is as simple as turning the dial and it is great to see that this system has been moved across the range to include the Contour series.
Overall the Contour is an excellent shoe from FootJoy and we would recommend trying them out.
