Who? 29 year-old Englishman Tyrrell Hatton.

What? The 2021 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, his sixth European Tour victory.

Where? Abu Dhabi Golf Club, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

How? Hatton continued his stunning form over the last 12 months by leapfrogging overnight favourite Rory McIlroy to take victory, making birdies at 7 and 9 to take a two stroke lead into the back nine. A long birdie putt on the par 5 10th proved to be a crucial momentum boost too, and Hatton went on to win comfortably by four strokes thanks to a bogey-free 66.

Following the victory, Hatton said:

Any time you win it gives you massive confidence, and to win in my first start of the season is a great feeling with Ryder Cup points starting again this week. That's definitely a goal of mine for the year ahead, so to pick up a lot of points this week is great.
