Who? 23 year-old American Nelly Korda.
What? The 2021 Women's Olympic Golf Competition.
Where? Kasumigaseki Country Club, Saitama, Japan.
How? Korda had raced into a three shot lead heading into the final round, largely thanks to a stunning second round of 62, and was cruising until a double bogey on the 7th hole brought her back into a share of the lead with Lydia Ko and Aditi Ashok. Home favourite Mone Inami then led the charge into the back nine en route to a final round of 65, and Korda had to wait out a 50 minute weather delay before two-putting from 30 feet to secure the gold medal.
