Who? 29 year-old Hideki Matsuyama.
What? The 2021 Masters Tournament, his sixth PGA Tour win and first major victory.
Where? Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia.
How? Justin Rose was the early pace-setter in the opening rounds, but it was Matsuyama who took a commanding four stroke lead into Sunday thanks to an incredible 65 on Saturday. Whilst the likes of Rose, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth and first-timer Will Zalatoris tried to pile the pressure on, Matsuyama stood firm and despite a couple of late bogeys was still able to tap in for a one stroke victory, becoming the first Japanese player to win a men's major.
