Typhoon and Altitude.

Not Second World War fighter planes or weather warnings from the Met Office, but new performance designs from Ping's 2014 Autumn/Winter line of clothing.

Just reading the names tells you how seriously they're taking the weather in providing a new line for golfers who want to perform and look their best whatever the conditions.

The collection is built around the new Sensor platform of performance fabric technologies that has been developed to provide the ideal combination from base layer to outerwear for any weather.

The Sensor Platform

The Sensor technologies split into three areas based around the established concept of layering and are specifically engineered to respond to the body's requirements and demands of the game, whatever the conditions.

Sensor Cool

A skin contact layer, Sensor Cool is a moisture moving system that removes excess perspiration to maximise comfort and keep the player cool and dry. The crease resistant fabric is designed to stretch and aid the movements of the golf swing.

Sensor Warm

This is Ping's thermal layer that maintains a players warmth by trapping warm air and works as a barrier against wind chill. Sensor Warm are lightweight, breathable garments that are designed to stretch and allow you to swing freely.

Sensor Dry

Sensor Dry is the layer designed to deal with the serious weather. Providing long lasting waterproof and wind resistant protection all Sensor Dry garments allow the air to circulate and are therefore highly breathable. Made from lightweight and noiseless fabrics they are made to protect without any detriment to the performance of your golf game.

Ping are so confident of the Sensor performance that the Typhoon waterproof chino and Altitude waterproof suit are guaranteed to remain waterproof for three years.

Typhoon Waterproof Chino

Ping are breaking ground with the Typhoon trouser by producing a chino that performs like a waterproof trouser with the incorporation of Sensor Dry technology.

Constructed from a high quality chino twill that has been laminated to a performance waterproof film that offers complete protection the Typhoon is a perfect alternative to having to carry waterproof trousers in your bag. A water repellent finish completes the trouser by beading the water from the garment and providing a top surface that is easy to clean.

Waterproof protection is guaranteed with fully sealed seams, whilst the straight leg fit of the stretch fabric and classic chino look ensure playability and the style and feel of a trouser. The Typhoon chinos have a soft lining with security pockets and an adjustable internal waist to ensure comfort during the round.

The Typhoon comes in waist sizes 30 to 40 inches with an RRP of £129.99

Altitude Waterproof Suit

The Altitude is a lightweight waterproof suit with a clean lined Tour-inspired look designed to minimise the distraction familiar to players who take to the course in the rain.

Centred on Ping Sensor Dry properties the Altitude uses a lightweight, four-way stretch, highly breathable fabric to ensure you stay dry and can move during the swing. The water repellent finish beads the water from the suit to keep it dry to the touch and all seams and zips are fully waterproof.

A scorecard pocket, removable zipped sleeves and pockets offset to the front of the jacket all add to the versatility and high performance of the Altitude jacket.

The Altitude Suit is available in Small to XXXL sizes with an RRP for the jacket of £144.99 and £124.99 for the trousers.
