Every aspect of Callaway's Odyssey Toe Up putters are built to help golfers set up square and return the face to the same position at impact for more consistency on the dance floor.

Callaway Odyssey Toe Up Putters

The key is removing any torque from the hands that can impact grip pressure and affect how you rotate the putter. Key to achieving this is to align the shaft axis with the Centre of Gravity (CG) in the putter head, something Callaway has tried before with the Odyssey Backstryke.

That was a large mallet putter, but for the Toe Up range Odyssey wanted to incorporate the tech into its smaller blade #1 and #9 head shapes.

Callaway Odyssey Toe Up Putters

To do this they had to re-design the hosel so that the shaft of the putter was straight up and the axis in line and a little toe-ward of the head's CG. This gives the putters their distinctive toe up balance that directly reduces the amount of torque felt in the hands and helps deliver the putter back to square at impact.

Positioning CG also had a direct impact on the choice of the Toe Up putters face design. The majority of Odyssey putters feature a face insert, but that material is lighter than steel and results in the CG moving deeper in the putter head. To prevent this they chose to use their Metal-X design so that CG remained as close to the face as possible which has minimised any onset with the face in front of the shaft axis.

Obviously feel from the face is still paramount and despite the Toe Up putters having a cast construction, Odyssey used the same process as in the Metal-X Milled putters to ensure a pure roll.

This means the face is fly cut to make it perfectly flat and the distinctive ovals are then chemically etched onto the face, ensuring crisp features for extra friction and a similar roll performance to the White Hot RX and Fusion RX inserts.

Three Hi-Def white alignment lines have been placed on the back of the Toe Up Charcoal PVD finish to aid square alignment. The SuperStroke Flatso 1.0 grip helps to promote a shoulder led putting stroke and promotes a square set up at address.

The Flatso 1.0 also incorporates SuperStroke's counter core weight technology so golfers have the option to purchase weights to further fine tune the putters.
