Game improvement irons seem to be getting better year on year, and more and more golfers are starting to see the benefits that friendly, high-launching irons can have on their golf game.

Best Game Improvement Irons 2022

Whilst we all suffer from a sense of inflated ego from time to time on the golf course, the reality is that most of us need to make life easier for ourselves, even if a set of shiny blades do look great in the bag...

If you're a newcomer to golf and looking to improve, losing a little bit of speed with age and seeking something easier to hit, or even a mid-handicapper who just wants to add a bit of distance and forgiveness to your approach game, then game improvement irons could be exactly what you need.

This is our selection of the six best game improvement irons we have tested in 2022, taking into account the looks, feel, distance and value for money.

In no particular order...

TaylorMade Stealth Irons

TaylorMade Stealth Irons

Released: 01/04/2022

RRP As Reviewed: £854

Quick Hit: TaylorMade's best looking game improvement iron gives you effortless power.

The Tech: A cap back design and toe wrap construction takes weight from the high toe and repositions it in the sole, to lower CG for greater distance and forgiveness. An intelligent sweet spot improves ball speeds, and the Echo damping system improves the feel and sound. Finally, TaylorMade's Thru-Slot Speed Pocket is designed to help out on mis-hits that are low on the face.

Golfalot Says: "The Stealth does exactly what TaylorMade claim: it goes far and is forgiving on off-centre strikes. If you need some extra speed and distance with pretty good looks and don’t mind sacrificing a bit of feel, then look at these irons."
