Golf Course Says
The Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course is a Jack Nicklaus design on what he has called the best land he has ever been given to work with. The course has more than lived up to its setting offering views of the wonderful landscapes for which Gleneagles is famed and it is easy to become distracted on the two tier greens. There a five different tees at the Gleneagles PGA Centenary course and the length of the course 6558 yards to 5072 yards. The course will host the 2014 Ryder Cup.

Golfalot Review
The Gleneagles PGA Centenary course is unfortunately not in the same league as the other courses at this fine resort. An American style resort course in the middle of the best scenery in Scotland doesn't work compared to its classic neighbours. The only exception is the section across the road from the 3rd to the 7th where you feel you are in the scenery. The rest of the time you are just looking at it or the A9, which is not really the point of Gleneagles. To be fair there are some good holes such as the long par-4 5th and par-5 9th and 16th, but the rest could be anywhere and the 18th is just a bland slog up the hill. Will no doubt be remodelled and hopefully improved for the 2014 Ryder Cup as it is a tough spectator track too.

Where2Golf.comIf the King’s and Queen’s courses at Gleneagles are known as the original Royals, then this Nicklaus designed recent arrival is surely the young Pretender. Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course does not pretend to be related to the other two, nor fit as easily into the superb Perthshire surroundings. The PGA Centenary Course course is much more about a cleared landscape, bulldozed earthworks, plenty of water, big bunkering and vast greens - all adding up to a corner of America carved into a very Scottish setting. What you must admit though is that your golf will be thoroughly examined - depending on which of the five tee-box choices you make. When the professionals play at Gleneagles they tend to play on this course, and they too find the going far from easy.

Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course is a nice course but a long slog without a cart. Because of the rain the sand in the bunkers had compacted and it was like playing off the cart paths. Could do with more sand in the bunkers. Had good weather to play and the scenery was second to none. Better playing Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course in summer time.

A number of good holes on the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course but it is very American looking and the walks between some holes are very long. Best take a buggy if the weather is warm enough for it. The holes over the road next to the Kings course are very Gleneagles and the long 5th and 9th are the best in my book. When we went to the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course when there were lots of great deals on so check these out before you go.
