The 2011 Titleist Pro V1x golf ball delivers lower spin off the driver and long irons, for longer distance and a more consistent flight, along with its renowned Drop-and-Stop greenside control.
A four-piece multi-component design, the Pro V1x features a large, high velocity dual core with a soft centre, responsive ionomeric casing layer, urethane elastomer cover and a new tiled 328 multi-dimple design (previous generation had 332 dimples). The 2011 Titleist Pro V1x features 24 identical tiles of dimples that combine to create the most uniform ball Titleist has produced. This high coverage dimple pattern with seven different dimple sizes has three axes of symmetry, which produces a higher trajectory synonymous with Pro V1x's longer distance and consistent flight. The Pro V1x retains its urethane elastomer cover for soft feel and durability.
Compared with the 2011 Pro V1, the Titleist Pro V1x will spin less and fly higher. The combination of the 2011 Pro V1x’s higher trajectory and very low spin results in longer distance.
The 2011 Titleist Pro V1x golf ball features a new surface pattern with fewer dimples arranged in a different way. This reduces the level of backspin on the ball at impact and this is what gives it the edge in distance over the Pro V1. Compared to the previous Titleist Pro V1x this version seems a little firmer and it does go higher too, mainly because as it does not compress as much at impact, it runs up the face of the club and leaves on a higher trajectory. However this does enable it to still stop quickly and the feel on and around the greens was exceptional for a firmer ball. The 2011 Titleist Pro V1x also seemed a little more stable in crosswinds so if you need more distance on the links this could be the ball for you. The 2011 version is denoted by the 2 plain arrows either side of the Pro V1x on the side stamp.
