The TaylorMade Ghost Manta putter is based on the ghost design but really is not much of a looker as the very large plain top of the putter does not carry off the white paint job with any style. Dare I say it it actually looks a bit cheap compared to other TaylorMade putters....

The feel did not seems as good as the others in the range and the sound was a little soft at impact and for us there was not much feedback on the strike.

The MOI is pretty high so if you want a large, plain styled face balanced putter then this could be for you but we think even the visually challenged Ghost Spider is a better option. Sorry TM.

I bought the Taylormade Ghost Manta even though it looked like something from out of space. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised after overcoming the embarrassment of getting it out of my bag for the first time.

Being face balanced, with a brilliant alignment system, was everything I was looking for in a putter and after rolling in a 25 footer with my first putt, I was sold.

At address, it isn't as large as it looks initially and the feeling of balance and poise it gave me was nothing short of sensational. Very, very solid from 5 foot in and just as capable from 20+ foot, this will be in my bag for a long long time. I am glad I overcame my initially snobbery over its looks.
