We've recently brought you news of Tour Edge's range of Exotics EX9 Drivers, Fairways and Hybrids, so now it is the turn of their latest, technology driven, irons to take centre stage.

Tour Edge Exotics EXd Irons

The Tour Edge Exotics EXd irons have been built for players looking for distance with forgiveness and feature the largest free standing face with the deepest undercut cavity manufactured in the Exotics range.

The unsupported nature of the face makes it extremely hot as it is able to flex more at impact to create the extra distance. This is enhanced with the Variable Face Thickness design that we are now seeing in more clubs, giving a greater spring effect across a wider area of the face for more consistent ball speed and forgiveness.

The EXd are made from 431 stainless steel and as you'd expect from a set of irons aimed at the improving player the heads have a generous offset to help the club return to square at impact.

The distance theme is continued in the longer irons from 3 to 6 which have been given stronger lofts as well as a low Centre of Gravity (CG) to aid launch and the CG position is progressive throughout the set helping to improve club head speed at impact.

The EXd head has two high-density tungsten weights positioned in the heel and toe to increase MOI helping to stabilise the clubhead on ball strikes that are away from the sweetspot, increasing forgiveness and preserving distance.

Feel, so often an issue in distance irons, has been improved by the inclusion of a soft thermoplasic elastomers (TPE) insert encased within the cavity back of the iron to give a softer and more responsive feel at impact.

The EXd irons come with the choice of KBS Tour 90 steel or UST Mamiya Recoil graphite shafts.

Tour Edge Exotics EXi Irons

Aimed at players looking for more playability without sacrificing distance of forgiveness the Exotics EXi irons feature a more traditional shape with less offset than the EXd.

Tour Edge Exotics EXi Irons

The EXi have a combination of a dual undercut cavity that gives a deeper centre of gravity and a new sole slot that gives a very thin sole behind the face allowing it to flex at impact for increased speed and distance.

Constructed from 431 soft stainless steel in a one-piece casting process the irons deliver the necessary feedback for players looking for control and workability in their irons whilst the same soft TPE insert in the cavity guarantees a softer feel at impact.

Tour Edge Exotics CB Pro Tungsten

The Tour Edge CB Pro Tungsten irons are the most technologically advanced Exotics iron ever, combining a hollow construction with progressive tungsten sole weighting to produce a combination of forgiveness, control, and distance for players looking to hit easy, long distance shots.

Tour Edge Exotics CB Pro Tungsten Irons

All of the CB Pro Tungsten irons, from 2-AW, are hollow from the top line of the club all the way to sole, a design that produces a more active face on the iron. To make this design feasible the top line has to be thicker but this is overcome by the progressive shaping of the heads and the trade off of the expanded sweetspot that ensures a clean strike right across the face.

The hollow nature of the clubhead design necessitates a solid tungsten sole to achieve the correct weighting and this is a achieved with the use of a solid piece of W-Ni tungsten. The tungsten used is heavier in the short irons and moves progressively through the set varying in weight from 95-90 grams.

As you'd expect this weight at the bottom of the club lowers the centre of gravity making the club easy to launch and gives the clubs a high trajectory for increased distance.

The CB Pro Tungsten irons have a thin Variable Thickness Face constructed from a high-strength 17-4 stainless steel to maximise ball speed across the face, and in fact this face is so hot that Tour Edge has had to thicken it at the sweetspot to ensure that it meets with permitted ball speed regulations.

The CB Pro Tungsten irons come with the choice of KBS Tour 90 steel or UST Mamiya Recoil graphite shafts.
