In addition to the launch of their JPX EZ range, Mizuno have released the JPX EZ Forged irons. The mid-handicap-targeted irons provide a good amount of forgiveness with the added feedback of a soft, forged clubhead.

Featuring the same Black Nickel finish found in the standard JPX EZ range, the Forged model features several design tweaks suited to player's who want a balance of forgiveness and feel.

Mizuno JPX EZ Forged Irons

“The JPX EZ Forged can’t be compared to anything – it’s a one off. It matches up to game improvement cast irons for distance and forgiveness. Yet it’s Grain Flow Forged from a single billet of 1025E mild carbon steel." said Mizuno's Club Engineer, Chris Voshall.

"You’ve got all the game improvement features you’ve ever had – but with a whole different level of feel.”

Mizuno JPX EZ Forged Irons

The forgiveness of the JPX EZ Forged irons comes from the undercut cavity design and multi thickness face.

The Max undercut design on the 4 to 7 irons creates a large, high energy rebound area behind impact to offer a higher launch and more forgiveness. The cavity size and sole width does not alter much down into the scoring clubs, but more emphasis is placed on distance control and feel further down the set.

Mizuno JPX EZ Forged Irons

Typically forged irons are built to shape the ball and control the flight, but the Mizuno JPX EZ Forged irons have been created to offer a higher launch and an "effortless flight" thanks to its deep centre of gravity.

Thanks to the multi-thickness CORTECH face, engineers at Mizuno have been able to produce maximum ball speed in a forged iron. The JPX EZ Forged iron will offer speed off the face, but the soft feel preferred by better players.

As with all Mizuno irons, the acoustics are very important. Using their Harmonic Impact Technology, Mizuno have specifically designed the new TPU badge and cavity frame to offer the appropriate feel and sound for the club.

Mizuno JPX EZ Forged Irons

All the 2014 irons from Mizuno have been created to be mixed and matched with each other. Golfers are encourage to use Mizuno's custom orders to mix the JPX EZ Forged irons with the standard JPX EZ iron, or perhaps a JPX FLI HI long iron replacement.
