Along with the launch of their MP-S ball, Mizuno are launching their Cross Core D201 golf ball.

“The magic of Mizuno’s Cross Core is to produce noticeable increases in flight time and yardage without the hardness of a standard distance ball. Creating a ball that is really long and efficient through the air, but still usable by stronger players in softer conditions when the greens are a little more receptive.” says Mizuno's Kosuke Imamura.

The D-201 was launched in Japan in 2012, and is now to be available in Europe for the first time. The versatile, all round ball is designed to reduce drive backspin without impacting the spin of short, more controlled shots.

The 366 seamless dimple design has been specifically engineered to complement the Cross Core technology, to offer maximum hang time.

Mizuno's unique Cross Core design produces a 2-piece ball that converts clubhead momentum into higher initial ball speeds. A secure core bonding reduces energy loss, whilst the soft ionomer cover makes the Mizuno D201 ball more responsive around the green.

Mizuno say the D201 ball possesses Intelligent Spin thanks to Cavity Cross Core internal fins that are specifically designed to reduce driver spin and increase distance and carry.

The Mizuno D201 ball, as well as the MP-S ball, will be in shops in March and will have an initial RRP of £25 per dozen.
