GolfBuddy's LR series of laser rangefinders continue to evolve with the introduction of the latest model, the GolfBuddy LR7 for 2017.

We were impressed with the small changes made to the previous generation, the GolfBuddy LR5, which boasted impressive performance in a neat and compact body.

It's no surprise then that the LR7 largely builds on the features found in the LR5, with the most obvious difference being a new white/silver/black colour scheme replacing the old grey and blue of the older model.

The LR7 has a compact and ergonomic body weighing just 218g and fits snugly in the hand giving accurate distances to +-1 yard with a simple touch of a button.

The 6x magnification makes it easy to locate the target and the LR7 has four scan modes, one more than the LR5. The existing standard, scan and pin modes are now complemented by a pin finder mode that peforms the same function as the pin mode, scanning for 10 seconds before displaying the distance to the closest target, but adds a vibration for further confirmation that you have locked onto the target.

Practical features such as automatic shut off after 10 seconds, water resistance, default to last used settings and eyepiece adjustment for varying visual requirements finish off the package and with a battery indicator keeping track of 3000 to 5000 estimated uses you’ll never be caught short for a distance with the LR7.
