Bridgestone Golf has long advocated finding a ball to suit your individual game and through their ball fitting challenge they have put over 260,000 golfers to the test to find the ball that is best for them.
With the release of the Bridgestone Extra Soft golf ball they now have another product for the majority of golfers who posses moderate swing speeds, but who want both distance and better feel from a ball.
Bridgestone ball fitting technician, Joe Distefano, explains where the Extra Soft fits in to the Bridgestone ball line up:
Many golfers don't realise that the golf ball they're using doesn't match their swing speed and will inhibit the distance they can achieve. The Extra Soft ball will help more of these golfers improve their distance on every shot, just like Matt Kuchar or Fred Couples can achieve with their respective Tour B330 balls".
Made from a 2-piece construction that combines an extra soft core with an exceptionally soft ionomer cover, the Extra Soft is able to produce longer distance with improved feel and straighter ball flight on all shots.
This is made possible by the very low compression of the ball that allows golfers with slower swing speeds to compress the ball fully and gain maximum distance. Bridgestone say that 75% of golfers they have fitted have a swing speed under 105 mph from tee, so the Extra Soft ball has the potential to add yards for the vast majority of players.
The softness of the ionomer cover means this extra distance is not traded off against feel, as the ball achieves more spin giving outstanding greenside performance. Coupled with the proven aerodynamics of a patented Seamless Cover Technology and Tour-proven 330 dimple design, Bridgestone are convinced they have a product that can improve play for a lot of golfers, as Steve Kettlewell, Managing Director of Bridgestone Golf UK explains:
Bridgestone Golf continues to enhance the modern golf ball and the Extra Soft ball gives more amateur golfers the opportunity to improve their game, simply by choosing a ball that is more of a match to their individual swing speed.
