We've all been there. You're on holiday or playing in the middle of the summer and your body feels hot, your hands are sweaty and your clothing is damp and feels like it's trapping the heat. Well thanks to the new Adidas climachill shirts, those days could be over.

Adidas have developed new and exclusive fabric technologies designed to keep your temperature and scores down when the heat rises on the course.

Davide Mattucci, Director, Global Apparel Product Marketing for Adidas Golf, said:

We’re consistently looking to develop the most innovative products to keep athletes comfortable so they can focus on performance. The climachill fabric is, by far, our most advanced to date and the benefits are actually developed at the microscopic level. It looks and feels like a solid performance fabric, but breathes like an open-air mesh. Once someone feels it, the difference is undeniable.

Here's how Adidas introduced us to the climachill shirt, by sending us a shirt inside a box made to look like an ice cube.

So what's the secret to keeping golfers cool?

The answer is a number of small aluminium dots located inside the back of the shirt. Designed to rest against the skin on the back of your neck, one of the warmest areas on a golfer's body, the aluminium material stays cool which in turn helps produce a refreshing, cooling sensation.

The rest of shirt is made up of Adidas' climachill, woven titanium fibres that maximise surface contact with your skin and increase air permeability. Adidas say the material offers "unmatched ventilation" and helps draw heat away from the body and evaporate sweat.

Adidas Golf Tour players Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia and Jason Day wore the new climachill shirt at last week's Players Championship, where temperatures peaked around 33'C. Here's Day opinion on the new technology:

When the temperatures rise, I need apparel that will keep me cool, comfortable and focused on my play. I’m amazed by the technology adidas Golf has incorporated into their apparel, and with climachill, not only can I see the technology, I can feel it, too.

The Adidas climachill collection includes three men's polos and two for women. They are in shops from this week ranging from £39.99 to £44.99.
