PUMA is one of the world’s leading sportlifestyle companies that designs and develops footwear, apparel and accessories. The PUMA Group owns the brands PUMA, Cobra Golf and Tretorn. The company, which was founded in 1948, distributes its products in more than 120 countries, employs more than 9,000 people worldwide and has headquarters in Herzogenaurach/Germany, Boston, London and Hong Kong.
PUMA starts in Sport and ends in Fashion. Its Sport Performance and Lifestyle labels include categories such as Football, Running, Motorsports, Golf and Sailing. Sport Fashion features collaborations with renowned designer labels such as Alexander McQueen, Mihara Yasuhiro and Sergio Rossi.
In March 2010, PUMA signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the golf equipment brand Cobra Golf from Acushnet Company, the golf business of Fortune Brands, Inc. The merger leverages PUMA Golf's inventive footwear, apparel and accessories designs with Cobra Golf's advanced equipment, innovation and superior performance, positioning Cobra-Puma Golf as an inclusive company for golfers of all abilities, attitudes and styles.
The two brands will continue to be developed separately, while maximizing resources and collaborating on many areas, including operations, research, design and marketing. The Cobra-Puma Golf brand identity is the combination of the Cobra Golf and PUMA Golf logos.
