The Titleist 913 D3 driver is pretty similar to the 910 D3 except that it has a more forgiving face for off centre hits. Titleist have increased the speed of the face so that you get around 2mph more ball speed from toe hits and just over 1% for low on the heel. This may not sound much but 2mph will give you an extra 4-6 yards which is about half a club less into the green.
The centre of gravity is in the same position as the 910 D3 so if you strike consistently out of the middle then the 913 version may not be worth an upgrade. Compare to the 913 D2 driver the head is smaller at 445cc and this makes it a little more neutral than the draw bias of the D3 and and easier to work, should you choose to do so.
The market leading Sure Fit Tour hosel is the same as before and offers a loft and lie range of up to 2.25 degrees. This enables you to get the correct settings and shaft to maximise distance and accuracy from your swing. Make sure you get fitted by a Titleist fitter as this will help you get the most from your fairly considerable investment in this excellent driver.
We really liked the sound and feel of the 913 D3 driver and the classic shape of the traditional pear shape will appeal to all levels of golfer. The 913 is actually one of the most forgiving drivers in the market so we feel the D3 should be considered by all single figure handicaps at least as you will not be disappointed.
