The Nike VR V-Rev wedge is supposed to build on what went before but we feel it is a step backward.
The cast head seems very light and combined with the S400 wedge shaft, the club seems dead and lifeless.
This is a real shame as until now Nike's wedges have been excellent and looked a lot better at address too.
The V-Rev grooves, whilst conforming, lack the va va voom of other conforming wedges we have tried as they just did not seem to get the spin on any length of shot.
It's not all doom and gloom though. The dual sole grind works well and makes the V-Rev wedge playable from a variety of lies and the 56 degree version was pretty good out of sand.
However this is a competitive sector and with so many great wedges on the market Nike are unfortunately off the mark with this one. Sorry boys.
