The Callaway X Forged irons continue the excellent blade/cavity forged hybrids that Callaway have been making for a while now.

Compare to the 2009 X-Forged irons the heads do feel a little shorter heel to toe but you soon forget this as the forgiveness is just as good. The triple net forging gives excellent feel that is soft and still provides a penetrating flight thanks to the same centre of gravity progression through the set.

As these irons are forged it enables Callaway to more accurately create the grooves than with a cast iron and they have a sharper 20 degree close space groove for more grip. Like the other irons Callaway have gone for lots of shallow grooves and it does change the visual look of the face compared to other irons in the market.

The shaft is also very good and complements the X Forged irons well giving them a nice feel and balance.

As you might expect from this size of head the 3 and 4 irons are a little hard work but the mid and short irons are just lovely and will give you all the performance that a low handicapper will want. The Callaway X Forged are a big improvement on the previous RAZR X Forged as they offer a bit more feel and better forgiveness. Try them out.

Absolutely fantastic irons. I play off 10 and I just needed a bit of extra distance and feel. These are the answer.
