What? The 2022 Dubai Desert Classic, his third win in his last five starts.

Where? Majlis Course, Emirates Golf Club, Dubai.

How? Hovland overcame a six-shot deficit to play his way into a playoff with Richard Bland, playing his last three holes in four under par to shoot 66. Rory McIlroy had a tie for the lead going down the final hole before finding the water with his approach, with a bogey leaving him one stroke out of the playoff. Hovland won on the first extra hole with a two-putt birdie to make it three wins in his last five starts and move up to third in the world rankings.
