Who? 23 year-old Norwegian Viktor Hovland.

What? The 2021 BMW International Open, his first European Tour victory.

Where? Golfclub München Eichenried, Germany

How? Hovland was the favourite heading into the event and looked set for a cruise to the finish on Sunday after starting with a comfortable three-stroke lead, but Martin Kaymer's stunning final round of 64 put the pressure on. The Norwegian was forced to birdie three of his last six holes to eventually claim a two shot win, meaning that he is now the first Norwegian to win on both the European Tour and PGA Tour.

Following the victory, Hovland said:

I'm kind of glad it's over. It was a long day, it was very stressful, but it feels great and it will be nice to relax for a couple of weeks.
