Who? 22 year-old Swede Marcus Kinhult.
What? The 2019 British Masters, his first win on the European Tour.
Where? Hillside Golf Club, Southport, England
How? Fast finishes from Eddie Pepperell and Robert MacIntyre in the group ahead put the pressure on joint-leaders Kinhult and Matt Wallace as they stood on the 18th tee. Wallace had just missed a short birdie putt on the par-5 17th, with Kinhult converting from long range to tie things up. On the 18th, both players hit approaches inside 15 feet. Wallace missed, but Kinhult poured his putt into the middle to take the title.
Following the victory, Kinhult said:
I've been dreaming about it for such a long time and to finally do it is sort of amazing. This is a very prestigious event and a nice little trophy to have. To get it as my first win is special.
