Who? 39 year-old American Charles Howell III
What? The 2018 RSM Classic, his first win on the PGA Tour since 2007
Where? Seaside Course, Sea Island Golf Club, Georgia
How? After a final round 67, Howell birdied the second playoff hole to beat Patrick Rodgers, with both men having finished on -19 for the tournament courtesy of Rodgers' closing eight-under-par 62.
After his win, Howell said:
It's been 11 years since I've won a golf tournament and quite honestly, I didn't know if I would ever win one again for the obvious reasons that I've come up short so many times and the fact of how the game is changing. The fact I'm sitting here with this trophy, it's still a bit of a dream.
Charles Howell III What's In The Bag?
It's Howell's first win on the PGA Tour since 2007, and he did it with 13 new clubs in the bag. Set to sign a deal with Titleist in the new year, Howell used the new TS3 Driver set at 10.5 degrees, and a Mitsubishi Tensei Blue shaft. Howell ranked 8th in driving distance and 12th in driving accuracy with the new stick at Sea Island.

Howell switches to TS2 for his fairway metals, opting for 15 and 21 degree models. The single sole weight at the back of the head to keep weight further back for easier, higher launch and more forgiveness.

Even the tour pro's want a little more help when it comes to long irons, and Howell is no different with his choice of the T-MB 4 iron, which despite blade-like looks actually have a hollow, cast head to maximise launch and distance.

From 5-7 iron the AP2 model is preferred, and continues the theme of many players preferring an iron which feels like a blade, but has a bit more forgiveness and looks slightly more welcoming down by the ball.

Howell has been known as one of the best ball-strikers in the game for over a decade, and this week's win proved no difference. He used the 718 CB irons from 8 iron to Pitching Wedge, and led the field in greens in regulation for the week.

Howell registered 100% success in sand saves this week, and did so using the SM7 wedges in 52, 56 and 60 degrees.

The only piece of Howell's equipment which hasn't changed to Titleist is his putter, as he has stuck with the popular TaylorMade Spider Tour Red. It was used to good effect this week as Howell racked up 25 birdies during his four rounds, plus that all-important 25-footer on the second playoff hole to clinch victory.
