The Tour Edge Exotics EX9 family of drivers, fairways and hybrids is now complete with the launch of the EX9 Long 3 fairway wood.
For players looking for the accuracy of a 3-wood with the distance of a driver, the EX9 Long 3 has a deeper face than the regular fairway, as well as a 185cc clubhead and a 43.5 inch shaft.
David Glod, president and founder of Tour Edge, explains that:
It was imperative that the Long 3 fairway wood provide a different performance than the EX9 and the Tour woods.
Engineered to give a greater spring like effect, the face cup is made from a 15-3-3-3 beta titanium using Variable Face Thickness technology to increase and maintain speed across a greater strike zone.
The face cup is combo-brazed to the hyper-steel body, which houses the trademark Tour Edge Slipstream sole. The 'waves' are shorter from front to back in the EX9 series resulting in a full-speed explosive impact.
These sit behind the Power Grid, re-engineered to be deeper and narrower, which moves weight from near the face to the back of the sole for an optimised CG location.
Available in 13 and 15 degree heads, the Tour Edge EX9 Long 3 is fully adjustable thank to a hosel that allows players to change launch conditions using eight settings to alter lie and add or subtract 1 degree of loft.
Further customisation comes from a 9-gram weight port in the centre of the sole that is positioned to deliver a penetrating ball flight. This weight screw is adjustable and additional weights of 6, 11 and 14 grams can be purchased either as a kit or individually to increase or decrease swing weight.
