Hot on the heels of the release of the Exotics EX9 Tour Driver, Tour Edge has announced the Tour versions of the Exotics EX9 fairway and hybrids.

Tour Edge Exotics EX9 Tour Fairway & Hybrid

Tour Edge Exotics EX9 Tour Fairway Wood

The Exotics EX9 Tour fairway wood features a smaller head than the regular EX9 fairway and is designed to produce less spin with a more penetrating ball flight.

The 150 cc head is 15cc smaller than the regular EX9 and made from a 15-3-3-3 metastable beta titanium cup face that has been joined to a hyper-steel body producing a combination for maximum distance. As part of the design, the Tour Edge engineers added 'sound' ribs to the inside of the clubhead that help to create what they say is a superior sound at impact.

As you'd expect from a Tour Edge fairawy, the EX9 Tour features the distinctive Exotics SlipStream sole that incorporates the waves to reduce turf interaction and maintain clubhead speed at impact.

The EX9 Tour fairway can be personalised through two adjustable options of an interchangeable sole weight and an adjustable hosel.

The sole weight in the Tour version of the fairway wood is located in the centre of the sole placing the weight in the position preferred by better players. A 9g weight comes as standard and helps to produce a powerful, penetrating ball flight, and players can also purchase an additional weight kit that includes a 6g, an 11g, and a 14g insert to increase or decrease swing weight to match their game.

The EX9 Tour is available in 13, 15 and 17 degree heads, but unlike it's regular counterpart, the Tour version includes a newly designed adjustable hosel, the first Tour Edge fairway to feature this and a face cup. The hosel allows players to change launch conditions using eight settings, moving loft up or down one degree, as well as altering the lie for draw or fade bias.

Tour Edge has chosen the shaft options specifically for the high swing players it expects to benefit most from the EX9 Tour fairway, with a choice of the Aldila Rogue Silver 60 and 70 and the Mitsubishi Diamana S+, M+, and D+ shafts.

Tour Edge Exotics EX9 Tour Hybrid

The Exotics EX9 Tour Hybrid is designed for players who like to use their hybrids like long irons whilst still benefiting from the forgiveness, control and trajectory into the green that comes from these clubs.

To achieve this combination of workability, trajectory and distance control, Tour Edge has reduced the head design from the standard EX9 hybrid, producing a classic pear-shaped club that delivers less spin and a boring trajectory. The EX9 Tour clubhead sizes are 111 cc for the 16.5 degree head, 113 cc for the 18 degree head and 115 cc for the 20 degree, very much suited to players who like to play hybrids as long irons.

The EX9 Tour hybrid also features an upgrade from the steel face of the regular EX9 hybrid to a titanium Variable Thickness Face, that is joined to the hyper-steel body. This advance produces better results from more contact points on the face, maintaining ball speed across the face, especially on mishits.

As with the regular hybrid the EX9 Tour features Tour Edge's SlipStream sole and Power Grid to maintain an explosive impact for maximum ball speeds and comes with a new UST Mamiya Recoil 780 ES shaft. The ES stands for 'Enhanced Stability' and this has been chosen for the hybrid as it provides more stability and feel. A stiffer mid section and butt to the shaft give greater control while a softer tip improves both the feel and trajectory of the shot.
