Tour Edge Golf has introduced the latest club to feature its SlipStream sole, the Exotics EX9 fairway wood.
In the EX9 the Slipstream sole works with a newly designed sloped crown to maximise club head speed in what Tour Edge has badged a Full-Speed Impact design.
The crown of the EX9 gently slopes from front to back to reduce aerodynamic drag to ensure maximum speed at impact, a speed which is maintained by the shorter waves of the SlipStream sole that lessen turf interaction to ensure a full-speed explosive impact.
The "Power Grid" in the EX9, located behind the face, has been re-engineered to make it deeper and narrower to increase the spring like effect across a wide area of the face to produce consistently fast ball speeds. Tour Edge has also included notches along the back end of the Power Grid that provide thinner spots across the face specifically designed to increase rebound at impact.
The EX9 also uses a robotic laser beam bond to adhere the Carpenter Steel 475 cup face to the hyper-steel body which produces flawless seams around the entire circumference of the face, ensuring the tightest tolerances for exceptional performance.
The EX9 fairway wood also includes an interchangeable heel weight and offers players the added benefit of draw enhancement. The 9-gram heel weight screw is housed in an 8-gram weight pad for 17 grams of deep heel weighting. It is adjustable and additional weights can be purchased as a kit or individually. The kit includes 6-gram, 11-gram and 14-gram weights to increase or decrease the swing weight.
