It seems like only a few weeks ago GolfBuddy launched the game's first talking GPS device, the GolfBuddy Voice. In fact, the Voice was launched in late 2012, and then upgraded to the Voice+ in 2013.
Now for 2014, GolfBuddy have tweaked the design again and launched the all new GolfBuddy VS4. Where the Voice and Voice+ were both all-white, the VS4 is available in either white/gold or black/red and also features a new screen.
The VS4 automatically recognises which course you are playing and which hole you are on. Simply click the circular button on the front of the device and voice will inform you of the distance to the front of the green. Click-and-hold and you will learn the distance to the front, and do the same again to hear the distance to the back of the green. All three yardages are also constantly updated on the screen as well for a simple, quick understanding of how far your target is.
The Dynamic Green View (seen in the black device above) allows players to get a more detailed aerial view of the green.
Keen to learn French, Italian or Japanese? No problem, the VS4 is loaded with eight different languages. Furthermore, with the click of one button you can start/stop a function to measure the distance of individual shots.
The VS4 is lightweight, at less than 1oz (28 grams) and conveniently small to fit in your pocket. If you'd rather not have it in your pocket, a detachable unit on the back of the device gives lets players clip the device to their belt, cap or bag. Alternatively, an optional strap accessory give you the option of wearing the device as a watch.
With a rechargable, 10-hour battery, the GolfBuddy VS4 is ideal for 18 or 36 holes.
