Scotty Cameron's Teryllium-insert putters initially shot to fame back in 1997, when a 21 year-old Tiger Woods lapped the field at The Masters using a Tel3 Newport model. The 32 white dots on the back of the putter, along with the bronze-coloured insert, made the putters instantly recognisable and they are still highly sought-after (and highly-priced) to this day.
Over 20 years later, Scotty has announced the limited release of three models which are said to be a reimagining of the iconic range. The new Teryllium T22 range consists of two Newport models, a modernisation of the original Tel3 models, and a brand-new Fastback model.
Master Craftsman Scotty Cameron commented:
There's nothing quite like the feel of Teryllium. It's the number one material request I get from players. And, as we've seen multiple Majors won over the past few season with a Teryllium-inserted putter, it's a great time to celebrate this legendary design.
T22 gave us the opportunity to take everything we've learned over the past two decades refine entire look, feel and performance. Like a modern day muscle car, everything looks original at first glance, but each component is brand new. Better milling. Better materials. Better construction. They're made to game.
Scotty Cameron Teryllium T22 Newport Putter
The model made famous by Tiger at the 1997 Masters, the new Teryllium T22 Newport appears to be a direct replica in terms of overall look, feel and setup.
However there has been a number of upgrades and improvements made, including a stainless steel construction, flat topline, adjustable sole weight, milled insert and new durable matte finish.

The Newport 2 design was also built with inspiration from the brand's earlier models.
The putter still features the soft feel of the Teryllium insert, but years of design improvements have resulted in a new, more modern shape with a balanced sole like that of the Newport 2 Tour.
Scotty Cameron Teryllium T22 Fastback 1.5 Putter
The first Fastback model to have a Teryllium insert, the 1.5 features a mini-slant neck as used by many players on Tour, with an improved four-way sole for a square setup and a thinner topline.
The Fastback retains the usual aesthetics of the original Teryllium putters with the black, white and gold colour scheme and 'domino pattern' on the cavity.
Scotty Cameron has long been a fan of using multiple complementary materials together in one head, in order to create the desired feel and performance. The Teryllium T22 models have continued this theme, with the precision milled insert taking its place inside the 303 stainless steel head.
Each Teryllium T22 putter benefits from advanced stability weighting with two changeable stainless steel heel-toe sole weights, stepless steel shafts and a custom Limited Release Teryllium headcover and shaft band.
A new black Pistolini Plus grip with copper paintfill was designed especially for the T22 release and features a thicker, less tapered low hand.
The Teryllium T22 putters will be available limited quantities worldwide from August 16th at an SRP of £599. Whilst this is undoubtedly pricey, it is clear to see just how much effort has gone into creating the models to such high specifications. If you're looking for something to set you apart from the rest of the field, then these putters could certainly do the trick.
