March 1st - if you're a golfer it's a time for optimism. We're safe in the knowledge that surely now we're through the worst of the winter weather and we can finally say that the golf season is edging closer. After all, the Masters is next month.
With this time of year comes new golf apparel and as the waterproofs edge closer to the back of your wardrobe, it's time to think about getting your game geared for the spring and summer months.
FootJoy's new Spring/Summer Collection promises to help golfers do just that, claiming to be their 'most-inspired performance apparel range to date'.
In recent years we've seen FootJoy move away from more traditional apparel designs by bringing more colour to the course, and the 2022 Spring/Summer collection follows this trend.
“The FootJoy brand continues to carry momentum in the Apparel category and our latest offering is one that looks to not only continue this energy, but to push it even further. The design team have done a fantastic job in bringing to life a line-up that celebrates interesting and innovative designs whilst remaining laser-focused on the golfer and performance - something totally unique to FJ. We look forward to welcoming the warmer weather and celebrating the start of the summer season with this all-new SS’22 Apparel range.”
Colin Mynott, FJ EMEA Product Manager
The men's range introduces four new collections: Jackson, Hudson, Duxbury and Deer Park that are said to balance the popularity of fresh playful prints with classic styles and a sophisticated palette. 'Traditional FootJoy' really does seem like a thing of the past as throughout the range, Dolphins, Fish, Palm Leafs and ‘Press Play’ graphics are vibrant, recurring themes, whilst elegant detailing completes the looks.
A refreshed Women’s line-up completes FJ’s SS’22 offering, again with lively all-new designs and styling to present what FootJoy refer to as its most impressive Women’s Apparel range to date. A watercolour print theme takes centre stage throughout the collection as FJ aim to continue to equip female golfers with more choice than ever before.
However, this is FootJoy so although this range may be more fashion-conscience than ever, it's certainly not all style over substance. Championing the brand’s pioneering spirit across the SS’22 line-up, the new garments are infused with innovation, including lightweight, breathable, quick drying fabrics and golf-specific product designs to support the golfer on and off the course through the warmer months.
If Dolphins, Fish, and Palm Leaf's aren't really your thing however, and it's more traditional designs that you're looking for, the new colour collections will be accompanied by a Fashion and Essentials range. These garments provide the perfect addition to complete outfits with easy and coordinating pieces that complement the headline collections.
The Jackson collection is crafted from a sophisticated colour palette, with base colours of Navy and White accented by Lavender and Sage. The striking designs of the Shadow Palm Print polo features in Lavender, with the Zig-Zag Print in Sage, alongside the Leaping Dolphin, Diamond Dot, and School of Fish print polos in classic Navy.
The Hudson collection contrasts Graphite and White with a striking Coral and softer Quartz Pink, offered up in FJ’s selection of seasonal playful prints, solids and stripes.
Duxbury’s simple three colour palette features Ink, as a subtle alternative to Navy, a summery Dusk Blue, both brought together with a simple White.
The FootJoy 2022 apparel collection will be worn by the Golfalot Team during reviews throughout the following year. Look out for different pieces in our reviews soon!
