It's not often a golf shoe is inspired by a sports car. However, that is the inspiration behind ECCO Golf's latest special edition "Stealth" BIOM shoe.
The Danish shoe company noticed a trend dominating certain sectors of the luxury and custom auto markets towards custom car paint jobs in the high-end market, and luxury fashion labels bringing out matte finished coats, bags, etc. So they decided to build a shoe based on those principles.
Thus, the "Stealth" Biom was born, complete with a new finish and new leather.
Available in either a Matte Black or White Matte colour, the "Stealth" BIOM are the company's first shoe with the high quality Caldera leather and are designed to boast an "ultra-sleek, athletic look."
“Our R&D teams are always looking to innovate, not only with new technologies but also in terms of materials,” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO. “This is possible because we own our own tanneries and factories, as well as through our position as one of the world’s largest producers of high-grade leathers.”
BIOM shoes were the game’s first Natural Motion shoe. It features a patented design based on the foot’s natural system for absorbing impact. Each of BIOM models are exceptionally lightweight and feature an ultra-low profile and a stable hitting platform, created by scanning the feet of 2,500 athletes.
The BIOM line of ECCO shoes are worn by a number of Tour players including Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Marcel Siem, Thomas Bjorn, Thongchai Jaidee and Stuart Appleby.
Whilst it is a 'Special Edition', it is not limited edition. The "Stealth" BIOM shoes are available now with an RRP of £185.
