The Titleist 909 fairway woods are very good looking clubs that sit comfortably in this latest range of Titleist long game artillery and come in two models, the 909 F2 and 909 F3.

Compared to previous models the heads seem a little larger for a little more extra forgiveness. The Titleist F2 has a slightly deeper head design than the F3 fairway and as a result it is a little easier to get up in the air.

This is because the launch angle of the 909 F2 is higher than the shorter F3. It is a good solid performer but for us it just lacked that little extra performance edge to really separate it from the pack.

The 909 F3 has a slightly shallower head design than the F2 fairway and as a result it is a little harder to get up in the air than its stable-mate. This is because the launch angle of the F3 is lower and the club is shorter than the F2.

The compact heads are aimed at better players and therefore are not very forgiving but does provide the aggressive shot making potential that better player crave.

Titleist die-hards will like these fairways, but for the same money you can get a Cobra S9-1 Pro, which has a smaller head, but a much better feel and we would prefer to take the risk with the forgiveness for better feel.
