The Mizuno MP-650 fairway wood has the same stylish clean looks as the previous MP Titanium fairway with a few changes.
The shape of the head is more pear shaped with weight moved from the inside back of the head to the outside back to create the new appearance. Mizuno say this is the shape preferred by their tour players and it is hard to disagree that it does look very good.
What this extra weight in the toe means is that the face will arrive slightly open at impact and the Mizuno MP-650 fairway wood delivers a straight to slight fade ball flight. This does give you more control on trajectory, aids accuracy and enables it to stop more quickly on greens. However if you like to play with a draw you can forget it as the set up of the MP-650 takes the left side of the course out of play.
If this still appeals to you then you should definitely try the Mizuno MP-650 fairway wood out as the sound was one of the best we have heard from a fairway wood and the feel is great too.
The head size is generous without being too oversized and the forgiveness is very good for this category of fairway wood.
Overall the Mizuno MP-650 is a good value fairway wood for those you want control and a classically styled head.
