The MP-58 iron was the first Mizuno MP iron to use a forged titanium insert in the back of the head and now the Mizuno MP-59 iron takes this is a step further.

At address the MP59 have a larger head than the previous model and this is a welcome change, especially in the long irons, which now look much more appealing. The location of the titanium Ti Muscle behind the impact area ensures that the centre of gravity is located closer to the clubface and improves stability which allows Mizuno to reduce the offset.

The sole is a little wider than before and you might expect this to launch the ball quite high, but we found that was not the case. The flight was similar to the MP-69 blades and the forgiveness is excellent for a forged iron of this size.

Compared to the previous MP-58s, the ball speed is a little faster and the feel is much better right through the set. Together with the Tour tested bevelled grind across the back of the sole, we feel they are much better looking too.If you are single figure or mid handicapper who prefers a blade looking iron then these are one of the best feeling and most forgiving irons of this style in the market, so check them out.

Love it. I always return to Mizuno and this is probably my favorite iron set.

Having made the decision to make the move to a Forged 'better player' iron, the MP-59 was top of my list. In order to maximise performance of these irons, I also underwent the process of finding out my 'Swing DNA' via Mizuno's Swing Analyser system. This led me to get the right shaft to compliment the MP-59's.

Immediately holding the MP-59's and looking down upon them at address gives you the confidence that you are holding a special club. This confidence comes from the club head size and profile, and the topline, which is just right in terms of thickness.

Undoubtedly this club is aimed at the better player, but provided your ball striking is decent, then you can expect to achieve sweetly struck iron shots that fly straight, get up in the air quickly and have that 'Tour' ball flight, that many players seek. Every once in a while you may strike one pure and at that moment you'll experience all of Mizuno's expertise in the art of producing Forged irons, as the shot will feel effortless coming off the club face. This feeling is enhanced by the ' Ti Muscle' insert that can be found at the back of the club, which only adds to the elegant look and feel of the MP-59's. Regarding the sound the irons make upon striking the ball, then this can only be described as, clean and crisp on the ear.

The MP-59's are certainly one of the best Forged better player irons out there in the market.

Very impressed. Slightly thicker than the MP-69 blades, and provide the look and feel that will attract almost all golfers. Very solid-looking club at address, and the flight was high but controllable. Feel and sound of the club was better than previous Mizuno irons (which I also liked). Definitely a contender if you consistently strike the ball clean and are looking for a new set of irons.
